We had an amazing weekend at the songwriters conference. Got some great feedback, ideas, and met some really wonderful people. The songs our groups wrote weren't half bad, either!
P.S. We decided to take "Hold On" down as it has gotten and will continue to get a major facelift. It is still a work in progress! Thanks for all the positive feedback on what we have so far.

This whole "following your dreams" business can be tricky. Sometimes you wonder: "Will this song sell? Is it fast enough? Does it have a cool beat and riff? Will people like it? Will people like US?". These things have been clouding my mind for many months, making writing songs really tedious. Yesterday, I (Kate) had an epiphany and realized that what was blocking creativity and making music such a discouraging outlet was the fact that I was focused on the wrong things. Our new motto? Screw it! We write not just because we love it, but because we HAVE to. It's in our bones. In the end, writing songs is a pleasure and joy. If people like our music, then that's just a bonus.
Last night, the song ideas were endlessly flowing. Funny how a change of mind changes everything.

Things are on a roll as well get back into writing and playing after our holiday. Hoping to record again in a few months - can't wait!

Got a gig tonight - very excited! "Hold On" with full band sounds awesome! Totally different sound that moves the songs along nicely. That song is changing and coming together finally!
